Message From Dean Taylor

Join Us for Summer Excitement at Zollikon!

We are thankful for the Lord’s bountiful blessings upon Zollikon Institute – and we want you to be a part of it! Riding by our facility on Hwy 39, you might notice that construction has begun, and we are so thankful for the support from the community that is making the project possible. We are planning all types of admissions focused events to include: a virtual open house, example classes, youth days, and more! Members of the Furniture Guild are generously working with us to determine how to make the Zollikon dorms a home away from home for our students.

Do you want to be a part of what God is doing at Zollikon? Please call us at 330-390-4142 or email us at [email protected]. We’d love to answer your questions.

Zollikon Board Member Highlight: Jim Smucker

Jim Smucker Zollikon InstituteJim Smucker is currently President and CEO at The Keim Company in Charm Ohio. Jim shares he “is passionate about building organizations that serve to build God’s kingdom.” As someone having earned Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Management, Jim has a great interest in higher education, and he has shared his knowledge teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in business and organizational management at several universities.

In getting to know Jim:

  • His recommended read is a favorite book, Images of Organization by Gareth Morgan
  • A favorite scripture passage is, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18 (NKJV)
  • His favorite coffee shop order is…none. He doesn’t drink coffee.

Zollikon Open House Events

Group of men at a table having lunch and talkingWe are so thankful for our May 30 Open House attendance, where prospective students, interested parents, staff and board members, area businesses, community churches, and even Milo Miller – the namesake for “The Hill”, also known as the “Milo Miller House” – and his wife, all came together for fellowship, supper, and to learn more about what Zollikon has to offer!

For our next Open House event on July 1 at 6:30 pm, we are planning a virtual information session, which will include a mock class excerpt and a Q&A. We would love to have you!

Construction Starts at New Zollikon Facility

Construction inside Zollikon's new facilityNew studs are forming walls for our classrooms where students will learn: about the value of undergraduate education, preparatory education for Ministry and Missions, practical application for Business Leadership training, or professional development skills to help them advance in their careers. Growth in faith and knowledge of the scriptures will occur in these halls, as will relationships in community and with mentors. Acoustical planning is part of our large capacity choir room where students will learn musical skills as they worship the Lord. Offices and storage spaces are taking shape. We cannot express enough appreciation for the amount of time, donations, energy, creativity, and prayer that has already gone into this project. However, we still need your support.

Would you, prayerfully, consider supporting the project at http://zollikon.org/donate

A collection of saint statues stands atop a buildingAs part of the Ministry and Missions Training Program, Missiology offers an exploration of the theory and practice of missions from an Anabaptist perspective. The course examines the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of mission practice. Diverse topics including: the application of Historical Theology I and II, the role of the church in missions, the impacts of socio-economical and cultural issues on missions and others will be synthesized. Learn in places like Rome or Athens – in “the places where it happened”.

*Study abroad opportunities are subject to additional student costs

Kingdom Quotes

“If anyone is to go out for the Lord, he must be chosen by the Lord and endowed with His power; he must feel that power working in him. Above all, he must let the Lord’s power rule over him and lead him…Christ will not permit a messenger to go out who is not first clothed with the power of the Spirit. Those who feel this power will heed the command of their Lord, who has sent them.” Peter Riedemann

Until Next Month,
Dean Taylor
President of Zollikon Institute
